How Do I Install Garmin Express?
Garmin Express is an application designed to manage Garmin devices. It is used for device registration, map updates, and software updates, syncing Fitness data with Garmin Connect, and much more.
NOTE: Garmin Express is not compatible with tablets or phones and must be used with a computer that features a USB port for a data cable or ANT+ Stick to communicate. For more details see Can I use Garmin Express on a Phone or a Tablet?
For Instructions on Installing Garmin Express, Choose Your Computer’s Operating System Below:
Windows
old Version of Garmin Express for Windows: v7.11.0 as of January 12th, 2022
Current Map Version: 2024.10 (North America) as of February 1st, 2023.
NOTE: The images below may include older version numbers and are only provided as examples
Go to the Garmin Express webpage
Click Download for Windows (Pictured below)
Run the downloaded GarminExpress.exe or GarminExpressInstaller.exe file

Review the terms and conditions, then click the checkbox
Once the installation is complete, click Launch Garmin Express from the garmin.com/express webpage located on the official site. You can google search to look up the Garmin link.
Mac
Current Version of Garmin Express for Mac: v7.11.0 as of January 12th, 2022.
- Go to the Garmin Express webpage
Click Download for Mac (Pictured below) - Open the GarminExpress.dmg or GarminExpressInstaller.dmg file

In the new window, double-click on the Install Garmin Express icon
Install Window
Click Continue - Click Continue again
- Click Continue again
- Review the terms and conditions, then click Agree
- Click Install
Enter your Mac User Name and Password and click Install Software. See Installation of Garmin Applications on a Mac Prompts for a Password for assistance.
Once the installation is complete, select Close. Your Applications folder will automatically open
Double click on the Garmin Express icon in the Applications folder

INSTALL GARMIN.COM./EXPRESS ON MY COMPUTER?
Garmin Express is designed to be the one-stop shop for updating maps, updating software, managing favorites, registering a device, and much more.
To download the latest version of Garmin Express:
Windows XP SP3 or newer
- Go to: http://garmin.com/express
- Click Download for Windows
- Run GarminExpress.exe to start installation
- Check the box next to the terms and conditions statement
- Advanced Users can select the Options button to change the install location of Garmin Express if needed
- Press the Install button
- Press the Launch button to open Garmin Express
Mac OS 10.7 or higher
- Go to: http://garmin.com/express
- Click Download for Mac
- Open GarminExpress.dmg from the Downloads folder or download the location
- In the new window, double-click on the Install Garmin Express icon
- Follow the instructions in the installer
- Once install is complete, close the installer
- Eject the Garmin Express mounted drive from Finder or the Desktop
- Open the Applications folder
- Double-click on the Garmin Express icon
Garmin Express is now installed and can be used with compatible GPS devices.
